At the publication party held on February 22 for the book by a journalist Kazuma Uwabe that we mentioned in the last month’s issue, Prof. Masao Mori, the developer of Kouka, delivered a public talk.

As of February 25, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has designated Japan as a country with “sustained community transmission” requiring to “practice enhanced precautions (alert level 2)”.

According to the map by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) of Johns Hopkins University showing the number of the infection around the world in real time, Japan has 159 infected people, the third largest except for China, after 839 of Korea where community transmission was reported and 229 of Italy where the number is increasing without the infection route hasn’t been identified. Zhang Dingyu, the president of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, says he found it distinctive that COVID-19 patients had dry cough without sputum unlike conventional types of pneumonia. Also, the patients often present with dyspnea, which is usually seen in severe cases of common pneumonia.

2. Clean your hands often by washing them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
4. Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or anything but your hands when coughing or sneezing.
5. Gargle.
6. Keep away from crowded places.
7. Rest your body and take enough water to keep your physical fitness and immunity healthy.
8. Open windows to ventilate your rooms.
