Important notice
We changed the name of our association to general incorporated association Cognitive function improvement support Association. The name change is because professor Masao Mori who developed the supplement used high quality Reishi and is considered as an effective treatment of dementia received patent for invention as “ constituent for cognitive function improvement.” From now on, we tackle dementia zero for dementia patients and their families in Japan as well as in the world.
Cautionary notes for Year-end and New Year holidays
On Christmas or New Year, you may have chances to spend your dementia parents who live away from you. Since you don’t spend daily life together usually, the important points are there.
1) Don’t complain for trifle things.
In early stage of dementia, the patient himself becomes conscious that he cannot do what he has been able to do so far.
He will be hurt if someone points out that or the words of coming correct.
Even though he wants to object it, he cannot say what he really wants to say because of the lowering language ability, then he may irritate more.
Say “ thank you “ to what he does and you do cleaning behind him.
2) Do not force brain training or exercises.
Brain training or exercises, it is good that dementia patient likes to do, but if family member forces to do because it is good to improve dementia, he will have a big stress. Sometimes, dementia patient recognizes that he cannot do calculation, then he becomes depressed.
Rather then he cannot do calculation, the depressed feeling worsens peripheral symptom and it creates bad influence to dementia patient and family members.
3) Create support system by letting neighbors or relatives know the current situation.
Some families hide dementia from neighbors because it is shameful or confine the patient and will not allow them to go outside.
Sometimes, family members are afraid of wandering and they rock the door and the patient cannot go out.
Then he goes out from the window and it becomes dangerous.
On the other hand, he feels fearful of being confined and escape from the house and he is wandering.
By letting neighbors know that dementia, the information can be given and they help each other.
Asking “ Because of dementia, he may go outside and bother neighbors.
If you see him, could you ask him to go back home? “ In daily life, neighbors ask dementia patient or come to home to watch him or they can talk.
Those communications prevent accident from happening.
Dementia patients as well as family should make purpose of holidays to spend joyful and calm time. Please have a good new year.
Collaboration between smart toilet and good health
There is a close relationship between health and condition of defecation.
Mr. Sanjay Meherotra, CEO of Micron Technology, worldly known semiconductor manufacturing, predicts that the days will come that toilet will take AI.
By developing smart toilet which analyzes human discharge ( urine or feces ) by AI, the symptom of disease can be examined on time.
In the world, there are areas that flushing toilets are not prevailed, no sewage systems are equipped or water shortage, more than half of world population cannot use clean , comfortable toilets and lives of children or health are damaged by infectious disease etc.
In order to deliver the healthy toilets to those places, Mr. Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder and a millionaire, supports toilet project that need not water.
According to Mr. Gates, it can be put without sewage system, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation puts 20 million dollars to the development of technology of toilet which processes discharge chemically inside, and they will add the same amount of fund to prevail for that.
Mr. Gates estimates toilet market in the world is more than 60 billion dollars by 2030, and he is enthusiastic to sell toilet concept to the world.
In Japanese health care entities, it has been announced the close relationship between discharge and health.
The future toilet, it will be useful for the health check for dementia patients and families as well as to save the water resources.
