We, general incorporated association, Dementia improved support Association of Japan, tackle to make dementia zero for the dementia patients as well as their families not only in Japan but in the world.

It is almost clear that the best prevention for dementia is recognized.

So far we have mentioned, it is said that remedy for dementia development failed 99.6% and there is no medicine to cure dementia.

But after those failures, the prevention of dementia, the same as cancer, is not become life style related disease such as hyperglycemia ( diabetes ) or high blood pressure. Once you get dementia, it is clear that to tackle with life style’s improvement or treatments in order to keep good conditions.

According to the article in Wall Street Journal, last ten years, it reports that 99.6%of test of Alzheimer’s drugs failed in the world. Especially, expected dementia improved vaccine was reported in 2008 at “ Lancet “ which is one of the most authoritative medical professional journals. As the results of study of “ vaccine which reduce amyloid beta “. they administered those vaccine to the dementia patient in Alzheimer’s disease. They can reduce amyloid beta in the brain. There was no effects to prevent declining brain functions. This is out of control to the fact that there is a difference between the results of numbers and the reality.

As hypothesis,

1) The drug has side effects, the effectiveness was counteracted.
2) The timing of administering drug was too late
3) In the first place, amyloid beta is not the cause of dementia

There is no supply of oxygen to the brain cells, the activation of brain cells cannot be done.
Cerebral nerves cannot be reproduced.

Especially the above 2) hypothesis is prevailing, it is understood that amyloid beta has a tendency of starting to accumulate in the brain 20 years before onset of dementia. It is expected that amyloid beta itself triggers the role rather than giving damages to the brain. It can be said that it has no meaning to reduce amyloid beta after you become dementia.

Then what should we do?

At present, it almost becomes mainstream idea that “ to administer drug before the disease starts. “ If the development has succeeded based on this idea, the new problem comes into. That is you have to start using drug long before the onset of dementia and keep taking until you die. This becomes big economic burden by taking drugs.

Now, dementia drugs are desperately needed all over the world. To meet those needs, a number of researchers are still committed to development of new drugs. On the other hand, past researches have almost revealed how to prevent dementia.

Be cautious not to have lifestyle diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure etc. If symptoms already appeared, modify your lifestyle and have proper treatment.

(However, there are a number of people who carry dementia in spite of having been cautious before the onset. Please keep in mind that the above description will not necessarily mean the people living with dementia neglected their health.)

best way to prevent dementia
