Forgetfulness and Dementia
Although we become forgetful with age, it is completely different from dementia.
Forgetfulness means something slipping your mind, which often happens in life, like forgetting what you wanted after coming to somewhere to take something, not remembering what to buy in shopping, or unable to recall the name despite recognizing his face.
In these cases, you can easily take the memory back with a little bit of help of a clue.
On the other hand, dementia makes you forget what you did shortly before, and you don’t even know what you forgot.
Some people with dementia often want meals again, not remembering they already had 5 minutes before.
Forgetfulness is a natural decline of memory or cognition caused by aged brain and usually doesn’t disturb daily life, in contrast to dementia that does a lot.
Brain’s Weariness Triggering Dementia
Just as muscle, brain gets tired when it’s stressed and then triggers forgetfulness.
Brain gets unable to process or transmit information when overstressed so long.
This state is called brain weariness.
The first signal of brain weariness arises as a malfunction of five senses (touch, taste, hearing, eyesight and smell).
When your taste gets less sensitive, a spoon of sugar becomes insufficient for feeling sweetness,
which often leads to overeating because you can’t get satisfaction without eating too much.
This can be a factor of arterial sclerosis or high blood pressure.
Meanwhile, if brain weariness affects mental side, it impairs cognition and then behavior, and finally triggers depression, neurosis etc.
Brain’s mechanism can be compared to a family.
Cerebral neocortex, acting as the center for intellectual actions such as analyzing or commanding, is the father.
Archicortex, maintaining very basic of life such as instinct or emotion, is the mother.
Diencephalon, the center of autonomic nerves, is a child.
As unhappiness of a couple effects their child, the more neocortex and archicortex lose their balance,
the more autonomic nerves get disrupted, consequently causing various symptoms.
Typical early symptoms are sleep disruption, constipation and inability to enjoy flavors of food.
Having good sleep, defecation and eating is traditionally said to be a secret for health.
If you don’t, that could be an early symptom.
Sleep disruption and dementia are closely connected that you can almost prevent dementia
if you do something against brain weariness when a sleep disorder occurs.
Among three patterns of the disorder, difficulty in falling asleep, arousal during sleep and waking too early,
the second is particularly important sign of brain weariness.
You need to something against sleep interruption when you suffer arousal.
First of all, be aware of your fatigue. Before trying to changing something,
just face and accept the present state and then it can simply begin to help the symptom relief.
If not getting better, do not hesitate to see a doctor.
Although most people think constipation is an intestinal disorder, it is also one of the earliest symptoms of brain weariness.
When diencephalon, the autonomic center, lose its control to every organ from the neck down,
all the operations including heartbeat, breath and functions of liver, spleen and gastrointestine get out of balance.
You can suspect brain weariness when you suffer constipation.
Brain weariness is estimated to be responsible for dementia.
